Thousands of fires are burning across a southern swath of the amazon. About 76,000 fires were burning across the Brazilian amazon at last official count, an increase of over 80 percent over the same time period last year, according to data from Brazil's National Institute for Space Research. The fire went from January to September, 85% of the rainforest was chopped down. The amazon rainforest is has approximately three million animal and plant species and one million indigenous people. If we keep letting the amazon burn down it’s going to turn into a different ecosystem. There will be fewer trees, animals will lose their habitat, and species could even disappear from the area.
The reason why I chose the amazon rainforest was because I would see in the news and many people talking about it. So I just want people to inform themselves about what's happening in the world and what we can do to stop it.

The rainforest has been on fire for months now. Even though we can’t really do much about the fire there are some ways we can help prevent the fire. Reduce your wood and paper consumption. The fire also has to do with extracting timber. Reducing the amount of paper and wood we use is a good way to help reduce commercial pressures on the amazon and other rainforest. Another thing we can do is consider what we eat. We can become vegan or not throwing away less can help reduce the intense pressures food habits place on forests and other ecosystems. There are many more ways we can help prevent the fire but if we at least follow these ways we can make a big change.
Air Pollution
Los Angeles has the most contaminated air in the country. Engines, ports, motor vehicles, and industries are the main sources of air pollution. The chemical reactions that cause smog are photochemical reactions. Air pollution isn’t always worse in the summer than in the winter. The rest of the workweek is then spent being attacked by pollution. Things like fireplaces and wood stoves ass mode smoke into the atmosphere in winter. More idling cars lead to more carbon dioxide being pumped out of the exhaust.
I selected air pollution because in my 6th period p.e, they didn't let us go out because of how harmful the air is. We could literally see ashes going around and we couldn't see the sky clearly. What we can do to stop this is stop taking so many car trips. Eliminate fire place and wood stove use, avoid burning leaves, trash and other types of materials. Global warming is when the temperature of the core gets hotter. What we can do is recycle and stop burning wood and trash. I’m angry because nestle and other companies are burning down trees just to make money and they don’t care about the animals that live there, they can change oil into corn oil. There’s many other stuff we can do .
